Isla Mujeres in de Caribische Zee ligt vlakbij het één na langste rifsysteem ter wereld: het Meso-Amerikaanse Barrièrerif. Maria, een van onze lokale gidsen, zegt: "Het is een schitterende plek om te snorkelen tussen de oogverblindende Caribische kleuren. Denk daarbij aan wit zand en het aquamarijne water van de zee." Je zet koers naar een afgelegen baai en neemt ondertussen het panoramische uitzicht op de kustlijn van Mexico in je op.
